What could your business look like if you had more time with the right support system?
Have you ever asked yourself that question and knew the answer? Sometimes, entrepreneurs skip this step within their business to hire support for many reasons. Not knowing who to hire, how to hire, or what to hire someone for are just a few reasons that can block your business from progressing, and we’re all in this to succeed, not to be hindered.
Ever wonder what makes those corporate jobs so successful? They’ve figured out that in order to have success, it’s going to take more than one person. It’s going to take a village. Like other entrepreneurs, I too came from the corporate world. My background includes the legal field, and in our office, we had an accountant to manage the accounts receivable and payables. An IT director to ensure that our computers and network was set up properly. A host of paralegals, secretaries, and receptionists to answer client calls, schedule appointments, research the law, draft and create documents, and so on, while the attorneys did the official work to counsel clients and provide legal representation.
Everyone had an individual purpose that made them an essential part of the office and the team.
Wouldn’t the same rules to success apply as a blossoming entrepreneur?
I know a lot of us may still be trying to figure this whole entrepreneurship thingy out, and we may become afraid to take a leap to do something different. Hiring support can be a little scary to some because of the “what if” factor:
- What if I hire the wrong person?
- What if they don’t deliver?
- What if I waste my time?
And after considering some of those factors is when you may begin to dive back down into thinking you could just handle it yourself, right?
That’s not exactly the best solution.
Remind yourself of your “why.” Why did I become an entrepreneur? Who did I want to help? How did I want to help them?
If you’re a fitness coach, was your “why” because you wanted to develop websites?
Or was it to make sure that you provide your clients with the tools they need to live a healthier, fit life?
This is the time where you focus on what makes your business a business. You need to share your brilliance and allow someone to support you with things that you don’t want to do, hate doing, or downright don’t know how to do!
Take a moment to ask yourself these questions:
- How much more could I create in my business with a team or virtual assistant?
- How much more money could I make having a great support team?
- How much more flexibility could I have to live a life outside my business?
Create a system that makes it easy for you to delegate and outsource. Figuring out what to delegate is one of the many struggles that business owners have. That system would outline the process for each project or tasks for it to be done effectively.
I’ve created a simple tool that you can use as a guide to help you outline processes in your business to make outsourcing painless. You’ll get a clear vision of the things you are frequently doing when you type in your name and email address in the form below to have the guide emailed to you.
What would it be like to receive the support your business requires?
