You have to know when it’s time to LET GO!
You’ve taken the time to plant your business, water it with hard work and dedication, now all of your hard work is finally paying off. Sales are increasing, clients are increases, and your business is growing. BUT it’s not flourishing like it should because you have no idea how to delegate your work to others.
Every successful business owners knows that they need a team. A team is more so a requirement than it is an option. You can’t continue to wear each and every hat for every aspect of your business: administrative, receptionist, technical support, social media manager, website manager, etc. You have to know when to LET GO so that you can guide your business in the right direction.
Delegating is a gradual process, but once you have these techniques, you’ll easily see how you can unload your workload and sleep at night knowing that your business is well taken care of! Let’s start with a few:
1. Email – Outsourcing your emails are a great way to get started if you are new to delegating. It’s an easy way to introduce your business to the support team on answering questions from customers and providing them with feedback. You can simply provide your existing log in credentials or even create an email account for the support team to use (i.e. assistant@companyname.com, customersupport@companyname.com, etc.).
2. Social Media – Do you ever feel like there is not enough time in the day to handle your daily business functions and engage with your followers on social media? Well, having someone create content, post daily, add followers and engage in your groups is a necessity. Did you know that Facebook is the most popular and widely used social media platform? Can you see how many sales you are possibly losing out on when you are not engaging with your audience?
3. Mailing List – This is a biggie! Having a mailing list is how you are probably receiving a lot of your sales. It took effort and convincing people to see the value that you are providing, so you don’t want to lose the subscribers that you’ve worked hard to get. With your mailing list, you’re pushing out your products, notifying your list of upcoming events, creating automations, etc. You can’t afford to lose your audience, so this is a very important task for someone to seek control.
4. Website Management – If you manage your own website, then you know how time-consuming this one can be. You could be working on one thing, that you thought would take you just a few moments to complete, and not even realize that it took hours! This is due to lack of direction, and you simply do not have the time to add content to your own website any longer. On the priority list of items to delegate, this should be near the top!
